Owner & Chief Instructor
Mark started his training in 1998 at Waltham Forest Boxing Club developing the skills required to defend him whilst increasing low self-esteem. Mark continued to study the art of Western Boxing and went on to train at the famous East London Boxing Gym, Repton Boys Amateur Boxing Association.
In 1992 Mark continued to study and compete in Wado Rye Karate and Korean Tae kwon do and in 1995 discovered the art of traditional Japanese Ju-Jitsu. Mark passed all five sections of his black belt grading, achieving a credit under the United Nations and British Ju-Jitsu Association.
In 2001 apprehensive about violent confrontation, Mark became a Licensed Doorman and worked “The Doors” in North London, Westminster and Essex. Consequently, Mark was constantly challenged in dealing with both the positive and negative effects of adrenalin and learning to control the psyche when dealing with aggressive confrontation. To date Mark has gained in excess of eight years close protection & personal security experience.
In 2002 whilst studying and spending time with Psychotherapists and hospitalised mental health patients, Mark learnt many effective techniques in cognitive behaviour therapy. He developed skills which would enable him to challenge his fear and anxiety, these skills have proved invaluable asset to his psychological game.
Since the year 2000 Mark has read material written by Geoff Thompson and Peter Consterdine, and finally met them both at a Self Defence seminar in Coventry, England. Mark is now a Blackbelt Instructor in The Real Combat System certified by Geoff Thompson and Peter Consterdine and a Senior Instructor in Self Protection privately trained and certified by Geoff Thompson. Mark is fortunate enough to be only 1 of 5 coaches in the world who instructs on Geoff Thompson’s Masterclass and holds a Blackbelt in Geoff Thompson's ‘The Real Combat System’.
In 2005 Mark continued to develop his fighting ability and expand his comfort zones by entering the world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Mark has both trained and fought out of the following fight gyms:
2005 – 2007 Pancrase London under UFC Veteran, Owner and Head Coach Jess Liaudin and Head Instructor Paul Hines.
2008 – 2009 Team Titan under World Pankration Coach, Owner and Head Coach Mickey Papas and Cage Rage Veteran's, Brad Pickett and Ashleigh Grimshaw.
2007 – 2009 at Top Wrestling Academy under ADCC European Submission Wrestling Champion Robert Sulski.
In 2009 Mark joined the MMA Clinic training and fighting under Head MMA Coach Paul Hines, Head Muay Thai Coach Chris Carley & Head BJJ Coach Michael Russell, furthermore Mark is employed as the Head MMA Coach of Romford.
